Friends at Work

My workplace is my second home,
a place where I spend a whole lot of my time.
And having wonderful friends at work certainly helps to lighten the mood and brighten even the busiest days.
Friends who would buy me breakfast because they know I’m too busy to get it myself — so somehow, no matter how busy I am, I’m always well fed. 😂
Friends who support me when things get tough,
who listen when I need to rant,
who laugh with me over the smallest things,
and who talk nonsense and crap with me just to get through a crazy day.
Friends who notice when I’m unusually quiet,
who check if I’m okay without me having to say anything,
and who lend a helping hand when work starts piling up.
We may complain about how tired we are, grumble about the never-ending workload, tease one another, and occasionally drive each other crazy — but at the end of the day, we still laugh together and look out for one another.
Work will always be work. There will be stressful days, difficult moments and days when all we want to do is go home. But when you are surrounded by people who make you laugh, care about you, feed you, support you and make even the toughest days a little easier…
what better place would I want to be, when my second home is filled with friends who feel like family?

My Journey as a Teacher

When I was young, I always wanted to be a teacher.
Whenever I played “school” with my siblings,
I would insist on being the teacher— standing proudly before my little “class”,
never knowing that one day,
this childhood game would become my life’s path.

Yet strangely enough,
teaching came to me almost by accident.

After completing my studies,
I applied for many different jobs.
One thing, however, was certain in my heart:
I wanted to work with children,
especially those who were at risk,
those who perhaps needed someone
to believe in them a little more.

Throughout my studies,
I volunteered in programmes working with these children.
I wanted to guide them, nurture them,
and help them discover the strength within—
to change their lives for the better,
even if it was one small step at a time.

So I applied for many jobs involving children,
and teaching happened to be one of them.

After my interview with MOE,
someone told me that I would definitely not get the job.
“The interview was too short,” I was told.

And strangely, I was all right with that.

But a week later,
a letter from MOE arrived.

I was accepted.

Perhaps some paths choose us
before we realise they are ours.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Twenty years have passed
since I first stepped into this journey—
twenty years of lessons, laughter and tears,
twenty years of hopes, challenges and fears.

There have been ups and downs along the way,
difficult moments and exhausting days.
Teaching, after all, is not always a bed of roses;
behind every smile are struggles nobody notices.

There are books to mark and lessons to prepare,
countless little worries that follow us everywhere.
Our work does not always end with the final school bell;
sometimes we carry our students’ stories home as well.

Yet amid the deadlines, the worries and strain,
there are moments that make me choose this journey again.

When a struggling child finally understands,
when confidence replaces trembling hands,
when the quiet child discovers a voice,
when someone learns to make a better choice—

these are the moments that remind me why.

Because teaching is more than helping children
to pass an examination or achieve a grade.
It is about planting seeds
whose flowers we may never get to see.

Some students will remember the lessons we taught.
Others may forget every worksheet,
every correction,
every word written on the board.

But I hope they remember
that someone once believed in them,
guided them when they stumbled,
and saw something in them
that perhaps they could not yet see in themselves.

For teachers do not simply teach minds;
we touch hearts and shape lives.
We give a little light when their world feels grey,
and gently help them find their way.

And perhaps that is the greatest reward of all—
to watch the children we once guided stand tall.

Twenty years later,
I am still learning as much as I teach.
Every child leaves a little lesson with me,
and every class becomes part of my story.

So when I think of that little girl
playing “teacher” with her siblings years ago,
I smile.

She thought she was only playing a game.

Little did she know
that she had already found her calling.

From childhood play to a journey of twenty years,
Through laughter and struggles, triumphs and tears.
I came here hoping young lives I could inspire,
Yet they, in return, kept alive my fire.

For every child who has passed through my door
Has taught me what teaching is truly for.
I may have helped them find their wings to fly,
But they are the reason I still reach for the sky.

Teacher

I want to be a teacher
Who will be a giver
It is not about getting richer
But about helping the weaker
I want to be a teacher
Who can be a motivator

The Life of a Teacher

A teacher’s day begins before the bell,
With countless stories no timetable can tell.
Lessons to plan and books to mark,
Guiding young minds from dawn till dark.

There are worksheets waiting, messages too,
Reports and meetings and things still to do.
Questions are answered, worries are heard,
Sometimes comfort comes through a simple word.

A teacher notices the child who is quiet,
The one who struggles but tries to hide it.
The one who needs courage to give it a try,
Or simply a safe place when they want to cry.

When the school day ends and students go home,
A teacher’s work is still far from done.
Books travel home in a heavy bag,
More marking, more planning when energy starts to lag.

It can be tiring.
It can be tough.
And some days, you wonder
if what you do is enough.

But then a student finally understands,
A struggling child begins to raise their hand.
A shy little voice grows steady and strong,
And you realise why you have carried on.

Because teaching is more than lessons and grades,
It is touching lives in a thousand small ways.
You guide them when they have lost their way,
And give them courage to face another day.

Sometimes you are the light in their darkness,
A voice of hope in moments of sadness.
You see the potential they cannot yet see,
And help them become who they are meant to be.

Years may pass and faces may change,
Names may fade and lives rearrange.
But somewhere, a piece of your kindness remains
In the confidence they carry, the dreams they attain.

So yes, the life of a teacher is busy—
Filled with marking, deadlines and responsibility.
But beneath all the tiredness, there is something true:
Few things are more fulfilling than knowing
a life became brighter because of you

Misery

When misery sets in,
It grows deeper and sinks.
But it is nothing,
Nothing great to cause destruction.
As it is,
Destruction is a bliss.
When sinking deeper into misery,
Hatred depart from life.

It has been a long time since I blogged. I was talking to my sis earlier today and was talking about blogging. Suddenly, I remembered about my blog which I had not updated for eons. Luckily, I am still able to access to it even though I had to go through a few changing of password and whatnot.

Well, what's new in my life since my last update, I am now more satisfied and thankful for what Allah swt gives and offers me in life...I am thankful for the simplicity and peace in life.

I have just started school hols...will be updating some stuff I want to cook for the family soon.

Am I Happy

If anyone were to ask me now whether I am a happy person, I can safely say, I am not. I still dont know what I do in my life to deserve this wretched outcome in life. I am still angry with the way my life turns out. I was extremely happy. I gave my love but yet, it turned out to be like this. I should have protect my heart from this harm. It was actually something I could have avoided but yet I plunged myself into it and look at what had happened. Stupid me, stupid me. It is so easy for him to go through life motion but it is still super painful for me, why?

I have been asking God this question, why put me through such test? I have had a lot of challenges in my life? Why put me through this miserable test? Allah, I am really having a hard time coping with my life right now. I wish I could do something, turn back the clock, disappear from the face of the earth or run away and hide and never to be seen again. But I cant! Mummy is already so devastated. Everyday, without fail, she will ask, why did he do what he did. What harm did our family do to him? We were all so nice to him? Why didnt you tell him you were learning how to cook and everything? Well, the only thing I could tell her is I didnt expect him to do what he did. No one could understand this mental turmoil I am in and the depression that is setting in. For the first time 3 years, I spoke to Taufiq yesterday. No, I didnt tell him what had happened, I asked him about some medicine and pills. He thought I have become a druggie. haha, off course not! I told him. I just wanted to know some sleeping pills that I could take coz the one the doctor offered is not strong as I am still very much awake, even after taking the medicine. i cant survive like this. I am losing weight, losing hair and soon, if no precautionary measures are taken, my P would think I cant handle my work, which is actually not true. I must take control of myself. But Allah, please guide me to that. Please set my purpose in life right again. I have no bad wish for him, how could I, I am still in love with the man. Allah, please release the feelings I have for him. Please assist me in handling my emotions, only You know I feel and how miserable life has been for me. I need Your help desperately God. Thanks Allah

Surah Al-An'am

Ayat 3
